My review:

What’s Love Got to Do with It is a romantic comedy about Kayla thirty and something years old a city girl from New York. She is a columnist spending time writing about a nightlife in New York contributing in it and telling the story from a firsthand.

Her boss sends her on a cover assignment in Arkansas. Kayla is devastated but she must obey and spend a few months in the small town where everyone knows each other and where aren’t cocktails. What she would do?

Day by day, the citizens of the town and their mayor will make miracle and chaos in her life.

Anna Premoli’s writing style is almost the same as Sophie Kinsella funny, exciting and passionate with some explicit sex scenes.

Some funny moment on the first page, I laugh out loud and I feel in the same way almost every morning with my urge for the caffeine shot:

“Unfortunately, the cup is so hot that I almost drop it as soon as my fingers make contact. Despite its inviting aroma, I decide to put it on the desk and avoid burning my stomach with it for the moment – I do desperately need a caffeine shot, but I do not need third-degree burns.”

Kayla is a city girl, fashionable and wild. She needs one night stands kind of men and it last literally one night. Kayla likes New York and everything that got with life there. Poor Kayla I totally related with her I hated visiting rural areas in the past, but not now.

“My expression immediately becomes less cheerful. The mere word ‘Arkansas” gives me a weird uncomfortable feeling in the pit of my stomach …and no amount of ginger tea is going to make it go away.”

The first expression when she meets Greyson, the mayor:

“I need to force myself to stop staring at him the way an alcoholic would stare at a bottle of good whiskey and try and focus back on my actual problem.”

“Glancing over at him and his backside, if I’m being totally honest. I’m starting to think that it ought to be designated a national monument. If we can’t do that, we can at least declare it to be one of Herber Springs’ protected species. You don’t see asses like that every day… They ought to patent the damn thing.”

The hilarious scene I experienced reading this book is:

“It gets better and better,” he murmurs and ruffles his hair with his hand. It’s so unfair that men almost always look sexier after they do that. It never happens to me- if I ruffle my hair, I end up looking like a demented porcupine, at best.”

I must admit didn’t know what is a porcupine and I googled and then I laughed till tears didn’t come and my stomach ache.

There were many deep and some of them are just interesting thoughts which I want to share with you:

“Nobody is perfect, and there’s nothing you can do about it. It’s life.”

“I’m not used to people being kind to me anymore, which is why I’m always suspicious when someone offers to help me. But this time I don’t want to be suspicious.”

“Do you know what they say? The things worth fighting for never come easy.”

“This man is so good that I almost want to corrupt him.”

“Each of us has to live with our insecurities, I’m just better than average at hiding mine…”

I have more quotes but it’s not my intention to be boring in the opposite that is the evidence how much I enjoy in this book.

I recommend it to everyone who likes Sophie Kinsella style of writing.

Waste of Worth: The Deluca Duet, Part One and Part Two- cover reveal+ giveaway

Waste of Worth: The Deluca Duet, Part One

by Bethany-Kris
DeLuca Duet #1
Publication Date: January 9, 2017
Genres: Adult, Mafia, Romance, Organized Crime

Synopsis: DeLuca Duet, Part One

Ask anyone and they will all say the same thing about just who Dino DeLuca is. A criminal, the son of a traitor, and a mafia Capo who can’t be trusted. His past has shaped his life, creating demons he can’t escape from that live in his mind day and night.

He is all too aware of just how people see him.

Closed off.
Cold.
Different.

He doesn’t care—keeping people out means no one can get close enough to hurt him again, and he already has one too many monsters with their claws stuck in his back that he’s still fighting off. His walls are so high, no one is climbing over them. Or so he thinks …

Karen came into his life like a spring shower, her light shining through the darkness and making him see something other than the hell that surrounded him for so long. She doesn’t know who he is or what he has done to become the man he is today. If he can help it, she’ll never know, and his monsters will never hurt her.

She sees his differences as beauty.
She never asks for more.
She is perfect.

The problem with happiness for Dino DeLuca is that his monsters don’t mind taking away what makes him happy. After all, what isn’t given cannot be kept.

These lessons will be the hardest he has ever learned.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: The DeLuca Duet is a two book tale following the same couple through their journey. It is a standalone Duet that can be read independently with a HEA ending.

EXCERPT

Memories could make a monster out of a man.

There were times that seemed harder to deal with than others; a passing moment that could make Dino DeLuca’s chest tighten in pain, or his fists clench in anger.

The sound of metal being dropped was one of the worst. He swore he could feel his back bruising and bleeding all over again at the simple tinging tone.

Whispered words made him jumpy—paranoid. Whispers were good for nothing but taunting, and he didn’t want to hear those mocking words anymore.

Had enough yet?

Learn to follow directions, Dino.

It should fucking hurt, kid.

The stench of vomit, clinging to the air and seemingly never letting go, would make his panic rush into overdrive, overwhelming him with an almost sense of itchiness all over his skin. As if the vomit was still soaked and dripping off his clothes in the darkness as he sobbed in a dank basement, curled in a corner and fighting off another round of sickness.

The reactions always came so swiftly they surprised him no matter the time or place. His memories weren’t much different when it came right down to it.

These times were the most difficult for Dino.

Those times came at night.

When the lights were off …

When the apartment was quiet …

When it was just him and his monsters …

When he was alone.

The most frightening thing about monsters was the fact that they could be anybody. The old man sitting outside the pizzeria, tipping his hat at the ladies passing by. The young woman on the city bus with her hair bleached white and her gaze distant, staring at anything but anyone. The mother pushing a stroller down the street, oblivious but focused.

Or a monster could be the man dressed in three-piece suit stepping out of the restaurant he owns, the ring of his key fob for his white Bentley spinning circles as he whistled Ave Maria on his way to church.

Dino caught sight of the lower portion of his reflection in the darkly tinted glass of his Bentley’s window.

He managed a smile.

It was more like a smirk.

Fact was, the expression he wore was neither. Dino found it incredibly hard to smile—something that came so easy for others was foreign to him. When he did try, it came off as a grimacing grin and that worked its way into a sneer.

Or a smirk.

He liked that better.

It was manageable.

The monster was definitely the man wearing the three-piece suit with the key fob in his hand, staring at himself in the window, Dino knew.

Slipping into the SUV, the noise of the busy Chicago city street was silenced instantly as Dino turned on his vehicle and checked his rearview mirror before he could pull out onto the road.

He regretted choosing the rearview almost immediately.

While his reflection in the window of his car had been partly obscured by the shadows of trees providing shade to the sidewalk, it was not concealed at all in the rearview mirror.

Dino didn’t like mirrors.

He didn’t like the face staring back at him.

The soulless brown gaze, emotionless expression, and silence was more than enough to make him look away.

Except he couldn’t.

Under the right edge of his strong jaw was a three inch scar that started three-quarters of the way up his throat and stopped just before his ear. The broad slope of his nose had the slightest crook in the middle. Sometimes the left side of his jaw ached when it rained.

Those were the obvious things—marks, scars, and reminders he could pick out instantly when faced with his reflection. The longer he stared at himself, the more he would find.

It was—without meaning to be—the most dangerous game he could play with himself.

Church, he told himself. You need to be seen at church.

It was only the ringing of his phone that finally drove his gaze away from the rearview mirror, making him check the caller ID, and breaking his cycle of self-loathing.

Dino was grateful for that.

Not so much the caller that interrupted him.

Sighing, he connected the call through Bluetooth as he pulled out onto the road.

“DeLuca here,” Dino answered.

“Why the fuck is Riley Conti calling me with demands about you, Dino?”

Dino counted back from five silently before he answered his younger brother. “Theo, good morning to you, too. Are you at church? I’m headed that way. We can talk then.”

“Dino—”

“Church, man.”

Dino let the call drop.

Theo wouldn’t say two words to Dino at the church and he knew it for a fact. When it came to the public, Theo and Dino were constantly apart from one another—on opposite sides of the room where they didn’t have to speak.

It was the easiest way for Dino to handle Theo DeLuca.

Maybe that made him a coward.

The brothers’ history together was not an easy one, not when it had been shadowed by the death of their parents, and then the events that followed the murders. Unlike Dino, who learned quickly that trust was a beautiful myth in their lifestyle and in the Chicago Outfit, Theo was of a more stubborn mindset.

And so, the two were distant.

Dino tried with Theo, but it never really seemed to help the relationship.

He was all too aware that his younger brother blamed him for things that had been out of his control, though Theo thought his older sibling could have handled the past far better.

He probably could have—should have.

Dino thought he had, honestly. He’d taken years of abuse from the hands of their uncle Ben after their parents’ deaths. He’d lived separately from the family, sure, but he was not exempt from the beatings and the manipulation.

Of course, that was a story for another day.

If Dino got his wish, that day would never come.

Another call rang through to Dino’s cell phone.

He checked the caller ID again.

Ben DeLuca, it read.

Dino didn’t pick up the call, still driving toward the church.

He would see Ben soon enough.

Without even being told, Dino was already aware he would suffer for not picking up the call.

Years had passed since he’d suffered some form of physical harm from his uncle’s hard hand.

Years.

Dino’s chest tightened at the thought.

Truth was, he still wasn’t exempt from the manipulation.

Not when he was constantly haunted with it all.

He still wasn’t free.

Worth of Waste: The Deluca Duet, Part Two

Genres: Adult, Mafia, Romance, Organized Crime

Synopsis: DeLuca Duet, Part Two

The Chicago Mob is the same as it has always been—violent, greedy, and excessive. The Outfit families have turned their backs when they were needed the most one too many times, but Dino DeLuca didn’t expect anything different.

His whole life has been lived for the Outfit—for his family.

He has a whole new set of reasons to live and fight now.

Karen Martin makes Dino change all the rules.

He’s finally ready to show everyone just how much waste is truly worth in the mafia, and just how far one will go for freedom from it all.

He’s learned these lessons well.

Too well.

Blackness surrounded him, its endless pools of ink swallowing him whole. He couldn’t see his hand in front of his face, but he felt the terror seeping through his skin, past his bones and making its way down to his very soul.

James knew he was in the throes of one of his nightmares again. He could never make out a thing, just knew the feeling it left him with.

He tried to make himself wake up, but couldn’t find his way out. The feeling that someone was coming for him caused panic to swell and his heart to accelerate, threatening to break free from his chest.

Not knowing what was coming, fear lacerating his insides, James started to run blindly. In his bed, his feet kicked out wildly, tangling in the linens and ratcheting up his terror, because to James, he was trapped.

His breathing labored and coming in short, sharp bursts, James cried out at the same time his body bolted upright in the bed. Sweat beaded on his brow and dampened his skin, his clothes suctioned to his body uncomfortably. He was clammy and winded, shaken, but he already felt better for knowing he was free from that awful feeling of suffocating terror that had threatened to overtake him just moments ago.

Scrubbing his hands down his face, James breathed deeply, hanging his head to his chest while his body calmed. As his adrenalin levels normalized, and he began to feel more like himself, James gave a final sigh of relief. Stabbing his fingers through his hair, he was readying himself to try to go back to sleep when he looked up and choked on his breath.

His entire body went rigid in an instant. His breathing, his heartbeat. Everything ceased to work. In the next instant James threw himself back against his headboard, fear gripping him once again.

He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He would chance rubbing his eyes to be sure his vision was true, only he was too frightened of what he would find once he opened them again.

EXCERPT – BEAUTIFUL LACE

I stopped off at a bodega on a corner and bought three colorful bouquets of flowers, dropped them in my saddlebags and took off to Fort Hamilton. I dreaded seeing the dead flowers at Christine’s grave and prepared myself for the guilt that would surface when I saw her name carved into the tombstone.

I parked my bike off to the side and killed the engine, grabbing the flowers as I climbed the hill.

Nothing could’ve prepared me for what I saw next.

Nothing.

I blinked to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating but as I approached Christine’s grave there was no denying the beauty kneeling before the tombstone was real.

Live and in the flesh.

My beautiful Lace knelt before my wife’s grave, re-arranging a fresh bouquet.

My past met my present and for a second I wished for a future.

Beside her laid a wilted bouquet of flowers, one I hadn’t brought there either.

“Hi, it’s me again,” Lacey said, as she leaned back tucking her haunches beneath her ass. “He’ll be back soon,” she promised before her voice trailed off and the only sound became the wind blowing through the trees. “I remember you,” she said finally. “Not much, but I remember you. I was just a kid when you first came around with Blackie and well, I sort of hated you. No, that sounds horrible,” she amended. “I was envious of you. That doesn’t sound much better but it’s true. I remember thinking you were pretty but then I saw him look at you and knew that wasn’t the right word to describe you. In a world full of ugly you were his beautiful. You and Blackie, it’s like you were the definition behind that saying beauty is in the eyes of the beholder because as pretty as everyone thought you were, they knew true beauty when they looked at him and watched him stare at you. You were the beautiful reflection in his eyes…the woman who made him smile. Even now that you’re gone I still envy you but I’m not sure what it is I wish for more…. for him to look at me like he used to look at you or for me to be the one that brings back that smile.”

I had no words.

None.

She was sitting here talking to my wife, confessing her feelings for me, and I stood there invading her privacy. I should’ve made my presence known, but I remained perfectly still as my heart broke for the woman I lost and began to mend because of the girl who brought her flowers.

She blew out a breath and slowly stood up, brushing dirt from her legs.

“Anyway, I’m going to get going but before I do, since this will be my last visit, I wanted to ask a favor. I’m not real religious and I know I’m probably just sitting here talking to a stone but just in case the afterlife really exists, can you look out for him? I mean I know you do already. Of course you do, you’re his wife…but still, he needs an angel to watch over him,” she whispered. “Who better than you?”

You.

She turned around, and I silently thanked God for the sunglasses that shielded my eyes as I stared at her. Her cheeks turned red as I extended my free hand and took hers.

“How long have you been standing there?” She asked, glancing down at our joined hands.

“Long enough,” I said huskily, pulling her closer. “Lace.”

I glanced down at the flowers she had brought and then lifted my eyes back to hers.

“You brought her flowers,” I stated.

“I can explain,” she started.

“Just today?”

“No, since you’ve been in the hospital,” she explained. “I haven’t missed a Saturday,” she whispered.

I released her hand as I stared back at her for a moment then placed the flowers I was holding on top of the headstone. I ran my fingers through my hair as I paced the small area in front of Christine’s grave.

“Blackie— “

I turned to her.

“How’d you know?”

“About a year ago, me and my dad came to visit my brother’s grave, and we saw your bike. He told me you come here every Saturday and bring her flowers,” she swallowed. “I just figured— “

“Thank you,” I cut her off, closing the distance between us and wrapping my arms around her, bringing her against my chest I bent my head, pressing my lips to her head. “Thank you,” I repeated, murmuring the words into her hair.

“You’re welcome,” she said as she wrapped her arms around my waist.

A honeymoon…

EXCERPT

More importantly, was the man seated behind the cherry-wood desk. He was in his late fifties from what Mishca had told her, but just by looking at him, she wouldn’t have guessed that. His eyes were a dark gray, his black hair graying at the temples. Upon seeing her, he smiled, standing to his full height, which was just a few inches shorter than Mishca, and came around the desk, extending his hand.

“You must be Lauren,” he said coolly, his accent much thicker than Mishca’s, making Lauren have to concentrate to understand him. “It is nice to finally put a face to the name.”

“Nice to meet you, Mr. Volkov,” she said, taking his hand. He had a firm handshake despite his age, and made quite the imposing sight. Whereas Mishca was lean, he was built like a bull.

“Please,” he said, waving a hand. “There is no need for such formalities, call me Mikhail. I trust you have met my wife, Anya.”

“Yes,” she replied, smiling over at Anya.

“Please have a seat,” Mikhail offered, gesturing out to the comfortable looking wingback chairs that were grouped together near the fireplace. “I must confess,” he went on after they were all seated, “when Mishca told me he was going to bring a girl here, I was astonished. I have never met any of the girls in his life.”

Lauren’s brows shot up as she glanced at Mishca. A muscle ticked in his jaw, but he didn’t comment.

“He must care for you greatly to bring you here.”

Mishca scoffed. “You’re going to scare her off.”

Mikhail’s face split into a grin, his eyes warming. “Nonsense. It is a reasonable assumption, no?”

They broke out into a heated discussion in Russian, snapping back and forth, but while Mishca seemed to be growing angrier, Mikhail only appeared amused.

“Would you care for something to drink, Lauren?” Anya asked, cutting in over them, walking over to an antique whiskey service that held several carafes of dark Amber liquid and a couple bottles of water.

She looked between Mishca and Mikhail, shaking her head. “No, I’m fine. Thank you.”

Mikhail turned his attention to the bay windows as a car drove up. “It looks like your sister is here. Could you escort her in?”

Mishca hesitated, his eyes flickering to Lauren, but he ultimately stood and walked out without glancing back.

“You’ll have to excuse my son,” Mikhail said conversationally, as he accepted his drink from Anya. “Love makes a man blind.”

She was momentarily taken aback by what he was saying. To be honest, she had never thought that they were there in their relationship.

“You don’t think so?” He asked reading her expression. “You are more important to him than you realize.”

My review:
It’s been six months that CJ is closed in her apartment. She has agoraphobia. She decides to venture outside thinking that is the solution to her problem, but she is unprepared for that and she will passes out and finds herself in some place. Soon she is finds that that place is to one billionaire. Asher is mysterious, good looking with magnetic aura. She is fall for him; he thinks that he is finds perfect solution for his problem.

I read this book in few hours and finds that the author literally wove this story in some special way. The way that captivated you till the end. The end is not end, but again the author leads you in another part of the same story in second book of this trilogy. The beginning of this book is simple I though and thinking that will goes till the end I surprise myself. After few chapters I realized that when the author brings Asher’s thoughts and chapters that have returns to the past. That brings the story special ongoing. There are few scenes that involve sex, but that is good, because relaxed me of other scenes as tragic CJ’s past and Asher’s involving in such an activity.

I recommend this book for hot summer days with hot, billionaire guy and hot scenes.

My review:           What we get if we mixed one red haired beauty and sexy man in Vegas?Eliza on her best friend wedding is so disappointed, she knows that they are perfect mutch ,but she don’t believe in love. All in the wedding is disgusting to her, even more disgusting is Gabe, her enemy number one. He is arrogant and always annoying. In that conditions Eliza decide to drowning her misery in alcohol and after pretty much drinks she tells to everyone that she is a virgin and proposed to Gabe.Next morning isn’t just headache her problem, but she is finding that she is married with her enemy. And then the shows began.           I don’t like that Gabe has strange sex desires, he is sadomazo type. To be honest that reminded me to Fifty Shades of Gray- he is twisted -she is virgin, but the story captured me and I continue to read till the end in one breath.Something I don’t understand:Why he married her? That question still hanging in the air.First of all I thought he want her because she is virgin, or he is in love with her. Nooo,he is womanizer and doesn’t loves anyone. And… Yes! He want to make impression in his father, the man with iron heart.Gabe’s father is so selfish and evil man, he thinks that money can buy everything.            Eliza is great woman character, she is tough and brave and curious.Still virgin she is special and made impression as special woman, stubborn but she know what she wants.

This book is easy to read and to love. Romance with little dark sex scenes, light erotica and great characters.

My review:

Rachel’s life is so boring that is no sense to lives it. She has a husband who is so selfish and he acting as Rachel is a furniture in their home. The man worth of be there and lives her life is her little son Daniel. Unexpected meeting will change Rachel’s life and turn it upside down. Rachel will leaves her so-called husband and her son and will goes in France, Nice actually with a man who looks like Adonis as She says. There she will meet some people and her life will be turned upside down, but not ordinary upside down, but Roller Coaster upside down. There in Nice she experiences big pleasures and other good and also bad things.

I didn’t expect, but I get it really great read. When the author sent me a review copy of this book she tells me: enjoy read/ride. I really get such a ride. I thought that the book is just steamy erotica, but now I think that is much deeper. There are many twists.

Rachel is every woman in this planet. Her thoughts, desires, her sense of loss and her adventurous spirit are well known to every woman. She is lost in her world with unwanted man, there is not a love to her, and she is a sleeping pleasure and unrevealed passion. She will awake up and find the way to her destiny, but the road will be rough sometimes, as Ancient Romans was said: Per apera ad astra( Through hardships to the stars). I like Rachel so much, especially how she deals with things, sometimes I liked to shake her to awake her up.
I like the male characters Albert and Stephan. Stephan is weak opposed to Albert, who is really strong. Oh and that H. is such a sick person.

This is the book which shakes you and drives you as Roller coaster; it’s adventurous, steamy, funny and sad in the same time.

My review:
Kaiya passes every night dealing with her difficult past. Every night she has nightmares, but every night and every day there with her is Camden, her older brother to protect her and beside him she feels safe. One day she decides to go with her brother in gym and there meet Ryker, with tattooed and athletic body. When she saw him feels shiver and big attraction. He becomes her trainer and instructor. He couldn’t stop thinking of her and he wonder why that is so, because he is womanizer and doesn’t have feelings about any woman. They both been hurt and they both are scared to live their lives in the normal way.
Would love be enough or the ghosts from their past will stand                            between them?

I read this book two days ago, but I’m still under impression of it. So powerful and great, so full of good thoughts and sentences this book is amazing. It contains violence and dark thoughts, but I enjoy read every single page of it. The author mix up many genres in very skilful and the result is amazing romance with thriller elements and erotic’s episodes.

Kaiya is vulnerable and cautious. She doesn’t commit and she is very careful when man is matter. When the ghosts from her past are awake she will become much cautious. I empathized with her and admired to her how she deals with the situation.

Ryker is good looking man; every woman will fall for his body and look. I like how he loves and how he deals with his past and Kaiya’s past.

Camden is great brother, protective and careful. I also like him very much.

Kaiya and Camden’s mother is most unlikable person to me even more unlikable then …,you will know who if you read the book.
